It’s a fantastic way to teach the young kids the basic skills of cricket with coaching from Hawthorn CC senior cricketers and assistance from parent volunteers. Each session teaches a special skill and then groups of eight play a double wicket “match” at the end. Above all, everyone has fun.
We may have the opportunity to participate in a special exhibition at the MCG Boxing Day Test or at a Pura Cup match at the Junction Oval during the season – more details later.

The following children took part in a double wicket exhibition on the "hallowed" turf of the newly completed stadium: Ben Logan, Michael Phyland, Andrew Cook, Tyson Alcock, Nelson Wade, Troy Sutton, Hugo Marmara, Jonno Kelly, Alistair Graham, Alex Westcott, Sam Woolley, Tom Scherf & Will McIlroy. We all had fun and showed how much our skills have improved in recent weeks. Thanks to the many parents, grandparents and friends that came along to support our "cricketers of the future". Also thanks to Gary Brown @ Staff from Cricket Victoria who did a magnificent job in organising the event. | | | | | | | | | |
