Hawthorn Cricket Club – Affiliated with Eastern Cricket Association - Established in 1947/48

Hawthorn Cricket Club is a proud, family oriented club, competing in the ECA across Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

New Players Welcome

Our Seniors play on both Turf & Synthetic pitches and our Juniors all play on synthetic.
Last Season 2009/10 Hawthorn CC entered 6 SENIOR teams and 7 JUNIOR teams.
We added a fourth Turf Junior Development team in the Seniors and had 2 Junior teams in: Under 12s, 14s and 16s and 1 Under 10s team. All teams play in the ECA.

Saturday matches run from October to Finals in March, with a short break over Christmas and New Year.

2010/11 senior Pre-Season Training Details

A-Squad members will be training on Thursday nights at Melbourne Indoor Cricket Centre located at 13 Duerdin Street, Clayton.
Commencing Thursday 12th August to 23rd September 2010 - 8pm sharp.

Club-Squad training for New and other players not initially chosen in the A-Squad, will be on Tuesday nights at Hawthorn Indoor Cricket Centre located at 13 Mayston Street, Hawthorn.
Commencing Tuesday 17th August to 21st September 2010 - 8pm sharp.

Outdoor Training at Auburn Quarry Reserve

Outdoor sessions are set for Sunday 19th and Sunday 26th September, 10.30am - 12.30pm.
Tuesday and Thursday outdoor training at The Quarry will commence on 28th September, kicking off at around 5.30pm till dark.

How we Celebrated Cricket in our Community

A highly successful day was enjoyed at Rathmines Reserve on Sunday 14th February, 2010.
With free entry to the public, exhibition Junior & Senior Cricket Matches, Milo In2 Cricket,
Jumping Castle, B.B.Q. & Vegetarian Food and Beverages everyone had an enjoyable time.

Captain/Coach Rob Tongue bowling in the 2008/09 Dunstan Shield, Senior Turf Grand Final - Hawthorn Vs East Doncaster.

Rob was honoured at the 2008/09 ECA Presentation Night as Captain of the
ECA "Turf Team of the Year" and in 2009/10 won the Dunstan Medal,"Fairest & Best Player" judged by the umpires. Congratulations on an outstanding 2 years at Hawthorn CC.

HAWTHORN JUNIOR CC enters 7 teams in 2009/10.

Hawthorn Junior Cricket Club entered the following teams in the ECA in 2009/10:
Two teams in the following age groups: Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s plus one Under 10s team.

This is complimented with our Milo In2 Cricket program (formerly Milo Have a Go)
for 5 to 10 year old boys and girls.

Vic. Bushrangers Junior Clinic at Hawthorn CC

Victorian Bushrangers Damien Wright and Jon Holland held a special clinic for our Under 14s and 16s Junior players.

It was organised through Primary Edge for the club's support of the Cricket Victoria playing tops which are compulsory at the club.

It gave our kids the unique opportunity of being trained by Victorian cricketers and to learn from them throughout the session and during the question and answer session.
